Room 4 had a fantastic view of Loch Long and had recently had a make over. It lacked little at all and had all the comforts of a home away fro. Home. The breakfast by Josh & Liz was top notch and the Bothy pub next door meant we didn't need to travel for a meal at night. Overall an excellent place to stay that would suit from one night to longer term stays.

This was our first time staying at this guest house. We’ve visited Ben Arthur’s Bothy (adjoining pub) for food a few times as food is delicious. From arriving staff are lovely, shown to your room which had incredible views, breakfast was excellent you select your food order the night before which is a great idea, will definitely return.

The room and views were excellent. Room wad spotlessly clean, well presented and very comfortable. The only issue we had was the breakfast, some items undercooked, others overcooked and some just cold. Such a shame because everything else was very good.

Lochside Guest House is a little gem. We were given Room 4. It was beautiful with a huge bay window overlooking the loch. It was decorated beautifully and spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the connected pub. Food was great and service excellent. Thank you.

A more than adequate stopover after a long sightseeing drive from Inverness. The room was very clean, although a bit warm when we arrived as it had been an uncommonly warm, sunny day! We opened the large door with a view of the Loch, and that cooled us right down. The bed was very comfortable. Was an easy 1 hour 45 minute drive to Edinburgh Airport. We were too tired for a full dinner, and had to leave too early for breakfast. But a lovely takeaway fish and chips shop just a short walk away was perfect.

A lovely room in a guest house overlooking Loch Long. Fantastic view from window and centrally located in what is a small but quaint village. Couldn't fault the room which was clean and well appointed and the breakfast smelt amazing (we couldn't unfortunately stay for any as we had to drop off our rental car fairly early on back in Glasgow).

Booked on Sunday afternoon for an overnight that night and was lucky to get the last room. Such a lovely place to stay! Room was nice, clean, and warm, with a fantastic view out over the loch. The pub next door is ideal for dinner and a nice wee glass of wine enjoying the sun. Breakfast in the morning was one of the best I've had. Which says a lot! Staff were all friendly, helpful, and attentive.

We were made welcome, breakfast ordering was clearly explained and we were shown to our room, very friendly greeting. Room was beautifully presented, very fresh looking, nice and bright, very clean. Stunnning view over the love, amazing scene to wake up to. We were on the ground floor so easy access to outside. Bathroom was fine smallish but very clean and functional.our room was literally next to the breakfast room, the room door opened directly into the breakfast room. This wasn’t an issue for us as we planned an early start that day but had we wanted a lie in we would have been disturbed by the activity in the room. The only other negative comment is the road noise heavy vehicles use the road late and early so difficult to get to sleep and woken very early due to the road noise.

The guest house has absolutely amazing viewto the lake, so it is worth it to pay extra to have the front room. The breakfast was also really nice. The only thing we would improve is cleanliness - there was black mould in the shower and radiators were very dirty. On the other hand bedding and the rest of the rooms was very clean and smelled lovely of eucalyptus. Once patio is completed it will be great place to stay to look at the loch long

We arrived early due to our early morning flight arrival and were immediately welcomed with refreshments. Our room was readied as we waited and strolled along the waterfront. Our thanks to the cleaning staff for the extra efforts to accommodate us! The room was small but clean and all we needed for our travels. We had a very good meal and some fun at the Ben Arthurs Bothy next door also with a great view. An excellent breakfast saw us off to the next stage in our Scotland journey. If you're expecting a fancy 5 star, go somewhere else but for budget conscious travelers wanting to experience local hospitality you won't go wrong here.

The room was a good size, with a very nice view across Loch Long. Good value for money, and very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal one night stay near the Loch, and with plenty of good walks. Very cosy nearby eatery recommended by hotel staff, with takeaway options allowed in hotel. There are currently some works being carried out on the loch-side, so pictures are not 100% accurate of the current state - I assume this will be completed in the future. Breakfast itself was fine, although all rooms cannot currently eat at the same time. Initially, we were charged for a Continental breakfast; however, as we did not receive it, the reception staff kindly reimbursed us. All in all a pleasant stay - would recommend.

Superbly redecorated room and ensuite, with a breathtaking view over Loch Long, this property is set alongside a bothy (pub-restaurant) enjoying the same view, and having an extensive menu of excellently cooked food. This is borne-out by the very high-demand, so get your booking as soon as you can!A trip to, and boat cruise from Tarbet is highly recommended, as is a trip over the stunning mountain pass to Inveraray.Closer to home, a walk south towards the Village Inn is also recommended, but DO AVOID the only downside of this location north to the heads of the loch, where the wind-blown-litter-strewn beach requires a strong stomach to behold.

I was given a really lovely double en suite room overlooking the beautiful loch and surrounding mountains. There were two very comfy bucket seats, a large tv and generous tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely breakfast was supplied in the conservatory overlooking the loch. The attached public house provided delicious meals from 12 till 7 pm. We'll worth a stay. I'll be back.

Such a beautiful area and a wonderful place to stay. Because of heavy rain I changed my schedule and they worked with me with no problem. The people were great and it was the best breakfast I had in Scotland on my 12 days in the country. Again wonderful people and a wonderful place.

Lochside was a perfect stopover spot on my way to Isle of Skye. Perfectly situated on Loch Long, my room had a lovely, unobstructed view of the lake and "the Cobbler" across the way. My room was small but adequate and nicely appointed. Great bathroom and shower. The staff at Lochside and at the pub next door were very friendly and helpful, especially Karen!

Very easy, comfy, warm, cozy stay. Interiors were simple but comfortable and everything you could need. Location is great and views from the breakfast conservatory is just magical at sunrise. The adjoining pub is the best in the area - great food, views and atmosphere. Try make a reservation ahead of time as it gets busy! The owner was very accommodating and made space for me so that I wouldn’t have to go find somewhere else to eat (which was not her responsibility but was very appreciated!) Loved it 😊

Great food at the pub next doorGood value for moneyComfortable bed, great view of the Loch, nice bathroom with welcome bathThe only thing was hearing a woman and a man shouting separately after the pub had closed, around 12.30-1.30am, kept me awake for a while.Man sounded like he was arguing with himself.Other than that it was fabulous just a shame some geezer couldn’t stay quiet after leaving the pub

Enjoyed dinner with a sunset over the Loch, what a beautiful view! The room was clean and comfortable, just what I was looking for. The locals at the pub downstairs were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast has options and also a nice view. Staff were fantastic. Looks like some work is being done on the Loch side of the building and it's already improving the view and creating more lovely space and views :) Cheers!

Small but well-equipped room (a bit tired and dated, but did the job)in great location to explore Arrochar and the Ardgartan peninsular. Clean and cosy (maybe even too warm!), bed small but comfortable.Overnight roadworks outside meant some noise inevitable, but slept well.Food in attached bar was good, and all staff very friendly.

The Lochside was positioned in a very picturesque position. Our room looked out over loch long and it was was so relaxing watching the wildlife activity on the water. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. We had the option to have breakfast or not and we opted to take breakfast at a very reasonable price of £15 for both of us and it was worth every penny. The staff were very welcoming. The pub next door was owned by the hotel and they served food which was also very tasty and reasonable. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to be back again.

The Lochside Guest House is placed in a beautiful and quaint location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to have the loch side view room, which was incredible to look out on everyday. Very good value for money. Despite bad weather I still get to enjoy their lovely patio overlooking the great views, loved having the pub next door which allowed you to relax with a pint and disconnect from the world. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay very much, great location and very scenic. Well run hotel thank you. Would suggest a power point near mirror for hair-dryer use. Unfortunately the Bothy next door lost our custom as the woman there needs to work on customer relations. Twice we felt like we were an inconvenience, first at checkin and then for a meal. We ended up leaving.

The room we stayed in was a little tired and could have done with a lick of paint, but it was clean and comfortable. Two packets of biscuits in the room and lots of tea and coffee which in itself is unusual. The breakfast was delicious freshly cooked and excellent value for money. The waitress was very friendly too. All in all I would definitely recommend.

The view from the room was stunning, also from the conservatory where an excellent breakfast was served. The outside seating also had the same view. The bed was soft & lumpy but given the view you can cope. Arrochar was lovely but very little to do in the rain. Need leaflets and info re public transport as all caters for car travelers. Adjoining bar had great views and brilliant food and drink.

The views from the room of the loch were lovely. Staff were very friendly and chatty and the breakfasts were delicious. Room was a bit too small for two adults and a toddler - the travel cot did fit but we were really not very comfortable and so sadly did not spend much time in the room. Soundproofing also not great - we could hear the conversations next door! If we were to stay again we would want to see if there was a bigger room available, as it was a lovely place to stay besides that.

The location and view from the Lochside is wonderful. The outdoor deck is nicely set up and very handy to the pub next door for dinner and drinks. The lady who checked us in was very friendly. The breakfast is well worth including. We did have two concerns - we have the good fortune of being there on a beautiful sunny day - the down side was the room was very hot and there was not enough fans for the rooms.I was told they are ordering more fans so hopefully this will not be a problem going forward. The other concern for us is the bed was super soft making it uncomfortable for us.

I stayed for one night for business and teh room was comfortable. The room overlooked the street so I was prepared for road noise. However, there was no attempt to manage noisy pubgoers outside the attached pub who were shouting in the street until 1.15 am. This ruined the whole trip as I had a very early start the next morning.

Stopped for a couple of nights to break the journey between South Yorkshire and the ferry terminal to Islay. We had a slight issue with the key to the front door of the property but it didn't spoil the stay. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable and the provision of toiletries was welcome. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. Surrounding areas are beautiful with excellent views and walking.

Basic but all that was required.Good shower . Continental breakfast great value for money. Slightly intimidating to have to go in to the local bar to book in. The locals sitting at the bar didn't exactly move out of the way. It didn't bother me but for younger solo female travellers it could be unpleasant.

The guest house is spectacularly situated on the loch with stunning views and a lovely waterfront area to hang out in. The room we stayed in was well sized, with a private entrance and a great, sizable shower. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were provided alongside a kettle, as were shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. All this made it a comfortable place to stay, though we did notice that the floor needed hoovering. The breakfast ordering system was a bit confusing: despite offering both a continental and a cooked breakfast, the breakfast options sheets only allowed for a selection of cooked options and we were not informed of the continental option upon arrival, leaving us unaware of the continental option until it was too late. This was frustrating as the prices vary, and reception was mostly unstaffed leaving the situation difficult to ask about.Despite the confusion around breakfast, the stay was pleasant and made for a good home base to explore the peaks of the Arrochar Alps. Would recommend to hikers looking for a accommodation in the area.

The Lochside Guest house was situated in a beautiful area, with amazing views of the lake, mountains and also with a restaurant, bus stop, train stationand a shop nearby. The cooked breakfast everyday was lovely, although we were not told when we checked in the open/close times so we were rushed to come downstairs before the kitchen closed. Also when we were about to leave for check out we had one of the staff just walk into our rooms. No knock, warning it was housekeeping or anything. It was an informal warning that check out was in 10 minutes. I was sitting on the bed, as well as my partner as we had just finished packing- but imagine if I had just gotten out of the shower. This was hugely inappropriate! The overall stay was good, with some amnesties were faulty like the tap in the bathroom and the shower gel cover kept falling off. Overall I would recommend staying here, just be obvious with your questions and lock your door.

My room, though, lacked a small table and chair, which was awkward since I had a laptop and some work (One could have just fitted by rearranging the wardrobe)The reception staff were a bit inflexible, I thought, in not allowing access until 3 pm.Overall, though, recommended.

We had a lovely one night stay. We had rooms without a view which were excellent value and you can walk outside for the view of the loch, plus the breakfast room is on the loch. Breakfast was good too. Handy having the pub next door. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. I'd forgotten to print out my ferry tickets and they did this for me which was a great help.

We arrived later than we had hoped and booked in in a bit of a rush before getting some food. The staff were incredibly efficient and friendly and the room was smallish but very clean with a great view of the loch. Service and food in the Bothy were both excellent as was breakfast the next morning. It was also interesting to hear about the Loch Long turtle which thanks to the breakfast ladies instructions as to where to look I managed to photograph. A comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Lovely b&b. We stayed two nights with breakfast. Room had a fabulous view of the Loch. Spacious and spotless. Comfy bed and brilliant shower - large, hot and powerful. Breakfast was very tasty too. Outside of building less impressive and communal areas a little tired. We had dinner both nights in the pub next door. Really good pub grub and great views. If it hadn't been raining the outside terrace would be abeautiful place to eat and drink and enjoy the loch.We would stay again definitely.

We really enjoyed the views from our doble room, the lake looks amazing and the place is perfect for relax and some hike. However, the staff didn't do our room service and were noy fully available when needed. In front of the guest house there are some tables and chair with amazing views to the lake. It was a pity that there were some dirty cups and glasses in that table and noone cleaned that up during the 2 days we were there .

Don’t let the front of the guest house, or proximity to the road put you off! This is a great place to stop. Lots of car parking, large area next to the Loch, next door to a pub which serves food ( you must pre book, we saw lots of people being turned away.) Breakfast was good, and enthusiastically served. I don’t think the photos on the website show it to it’s best. Our room had an enormous bay window overlooking the Loch.

We stayed at the Lochside on our way to and from the Lake District to break up the journey. It's a little bit of a hassle to have to go to the bar to tell the staff you have arrived and then they take you back around to the reception to check you in but it is understandable with the shortage of staff all over the country. The rooms were clean and comfortable, if a little tired looking. Again this is understandable with hospitality being hard hit during covid but I like to write honest reviews. We found the staff to be friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is amazing, both dinner and breakfasts, and very reasonably priced. The outside seating area is along the lochside and is just beautiful. We had dinner on our first visit but, as we arrived at 6.15pm on our second visit, we were told they were fully booked and had to go elsewhere, not an easy task in such a small village. We felt that they should allow for guests requiring dinner or even message and ask when they know they are busy.All-in-all a lovely place for a night or two.

A Perfect location for us - an easy walk from Arrochar & Tarbet station and 50 yards from the bus stop where we picked up the 926 bus to Kennacraig Ferry Terminal the next morning. The views over the loch from our windows were spectacular. The place was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the advice about which places within walking distance would be able to offer us supper, and until what time. The breakfasts were absolutely excellent and set us all up for the day.The only problem we had was that in one of the rooms (number 4) it was hard to open a window because all the panes that opened were so high up; and the blinds were awkward to operate, because they went high but had no cord to pull them down with.Nevertheless, we were delighted with our stay. Being able to walk along by the side of the loch, in both directions, was a bonus. Very relaxing.Thank you!

My pet hate is noise from other rooms. The people in the room above us never stopped walking around and the floor boards creaked so much. You can hear people in other rooms talking and even toilets flushing . It was clean and the shower we had was excellent. But only 2 stars from me because of the noise

We stayed for one night in the family room in June. It was spotless and the view of the loch was stunning, especially in the morning when the water was still like glass! We woke up to find our three kids huddled together on the window ledge admiring the view in silence! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, excellent value for money. The staff we encountered were helpful and accommodating. I phoned to ask about a travel cot and it was set up and ready for us when we arrived. We have stayed in Arrochar before in a self catering property and our kids all said they preferred staying at Lochside :) Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. X

We stayed at Lochside for a night to break our journey to Islay. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier and as requested gave my elderly parents a room on the ground floor. The rooms were spotless and the views of the loch were fantastic. Food next door in Ben Arthur’s Bothy was great. Staff were cheerful and attentive despite being really busy on a Friday night. Breakfast was also great and staff again really welcoming. Some of the decor could use a bit of cheering up but this is minor compared with the great service, great food, cleanliness and value. We will definitely stay again.

Had a view of the loch, it was brilliant. There was even a set of binoculars on the window sill to use. Room was small but adequate, furnishings were recent, bed was comfy, en suite was modern, everything was clean. Perfect location for walking up the cobbler, 5 or 10 minute walk from lodgings to the start of the hill walk. Bar right next door with reasonable priced food and drink and again fantastic views of the loch. Even the weather didn’t detract from the view, in fact the rain and mist created a great backdrop. If I was to suggest something then maybe a coat rack above the heater so damp coats could quickly dry out.

We found the accommodation accessible, very clean, comfortable bed and all amenities were good. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were very approachable and friendly. In our opinion due to there being an outdoor light switched on throughout the night, we found the curtains didn’t adequately block out the light during sleeping hours. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Stay was pleasant, lovely view over loch from our room. Our only issue was that there was a lot of noise in the mornings, so much stomping around from we presume other bedrooms from 6.30am. The room felt like it was shaking from all the stomping. Yet breakfast didn’t start till 7:30am they didn’t need to be moving and stomping so earlyIt would have been better if the floors had better soundproofing. This can often be achieved my slightly thicker carpets with an underlay.Otherwise the stay was good, close to walks, big breakfast

We couldn't fault the friendly staff but unfortunately our stay was over shadowed by the lack of sound proofing between rooms and floors. Our room was roadside and traffic noise added to the internal noise resulted in two nights of little sleep. The mattresses very very, very soft. Breakfast was fine but Christmas music throughout on day one in mid November was odd and day two no music at all - one extreme to the other. On staff recommendation we ate one night at Ben Arthur's Bothy - disappointingly I was served the most bland fish and chips. We went elsewhere on our second night!

Stopped for one night to break up our journey home. Welcome friendly as were all the staff through out the evening. View of the loch from the room was definitely the high point. Very spacious room, the bathroom was dinky and could have been made more serviceable by using some of the massive space in the room. All very clean and well decorated, love the binoculars left on windowsill to enjoy the fabulous views of the loch and surrounding hills. Nice touch. Bedding and decor lovely. For the average person I think they would find the mattress too soft, but that's just mine and my partners opinion, didn't spoil the stay. The pub next door served food until 9pm, shame no veg or salad, no healthy options, service was, great very friendly, surprised no masks worn by staff🤔. One down side I know it was cold and bless I do feel the cold but it was like a sauna in the lounge, not comfortable to eat and stay long. Would I stay again YES and would recommend to friends

Had a lovely stay at the Lochside Guest House. The staff were very welcoming and provided a great breakfast offering including Oat Milk and fresh fruit. The location simply amazing and we loved enjoying the setting as we ate breakfast. The room was perfect too - again with a fantastic view and great facilities especially the shower.

I had a great stay at the Lochside Guest House. My room was very attractive, with an en suite bathroom, and spotlessly clean. A real highlight was breakfast, which was superb and was served by very friendly and helpful staff. It was in the conservatory, which has a great view overlooking the sea loch and the hills. In the evening I was able to eat at the next door Ben Arthur Bothy pub, which did excellent evening meals. Arrochar is a very good base for exploring the surrounding areas of Argyll and the Loch Lomond National Park. Overall, as well as being a very enjoyable break, it was also great value for money.

The outside of the building looks very sad and needs some tic, but the welcome from the staff was secondary to none. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Great poached eggs, sublime black pudding with speedy service. The staff at Lochside Guest house deserve a medal, hard workers, happy and couldn't do enough for us. If only the outside could have a bit of a face lift,I think it would do wonders for their trade.

This facility was located on Loch Long and provided stunning scenery to wake up to and the parking arrangements on the site were good. The Guest House rooms were very clean and provided all the facilities that would be required. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts provided were fantastic, with a range of breakfast options available - cooked breakfast or a lighter/continental style breakfast being able. Would have no hesitation recommending this Guest House to other people and I would use it again.

Stayed for 3 nights. Booked twin room and a single room. Both rooms were comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Staff verynice and looked after us well. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Recommend the vegetarian sausages. Lovely views over the Loch. Both rooms were on the road side of the house (only rooms available to suit our needs, at time of booking) which was much busier with traffic at night than we expected it to be,and disturbed our sleep at times, especially when the windows were open as it was warm during our stay.Good to have the bothy next door to get food and drinks. Lovely decking area next to Loch. Ample parking.Great location in Arrochar, overlooking the Loch and the cobbler. Well situated for walking in the area.Definitely would stay again but would maybe choose rooms away from the road.

The staff were super friendly & helpful & my room was simple but clean, modern & equipped with all the usual hotel items. The full Scottish breakfast is top notch & served by a super friendly restaurant host. There’s also a pub right next door. Definitely recommend.

A good example of not judging by first impression. The frontage of the guest house is Scruffy. A lick of paint is badly needed. The checking in process was confusing. No loo rolls in the en suite. Equally the Ben Arthur Bistro next door, and part of the same set up is equally unimpressive in appearance. However once we over came out initial problems things improved. The room was pleasant and comfortable if a little small. En suite excellentEverything very clean and accommodation area has been recently decorated. The big surprise is the stunning view of the loch at the rear of the property and visible from out room. Breakfast adequate if a little limited in scope. Excellent meal in BenArthurs Bothy sat overlooking loch. Staff friendly.

Very happy with this booking. Literally on the edge of the loch with stunning views of the lakes and the cobbler. We had room 11 that had French doors outside onto the carpark which made it very easy for luggage and the incredible view. Decking area and grass were perfect for chilling with a book. Only a 10 minute walk from the hike up to the cobbler (we did the hike in 5 hours, not for the faint hearted but amazing views at the top!). Pub on site was great. Good food options, big portions and great value for money. We booked our room with breakfast and it was very good. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeble about the local area. Room very clean and tidy. NEED to go back one day! Thank you to everyone at Lochside Guest House.

Rooms were spotless and fresh feeling, best nights sleep I've had in a while due to the bed being so comfortable. Breakfast was cooked fantastically and set us up for the travelling back home. Staff are welcoming and friendly and adhere to all Covid guidelines. Also, the pub next door isn't overpriced for drinks and although we didn't try the food it looked lovely. Stayed in other more expensive accommodation in this area but this place is by far so much better, a true home from home. Will be booking again and would highly recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The room and hotel was immaculately clean, with hand sanitiser in the hallways and their compliance to covid regulations made us feel quite comfortable. Amazing home cooked breakfast (we are vegetarian so we were thrilled by seeing that vegetarian haggis, bacon, and sausage were on offer). The views of the loch are even more spectacular in person, and it was super convenient to be able to park our car at the hotel and just walk 10 mins to the Cobbler trail head. The pub next door is definitely a cut above the rest - its nice home cooked food (we ate there several times and loved it). The staff especially were so friendly and lovely, and they made us feel very welcome. We will 100% be returning! Thank you to everyone at the Lochside Guest House!

Had a lovely one night stay at the start or our journey on the NC 500.A warm welcome by all the staff.Enjoyed a tasty meal in the Bothy.Would recommend getting in early as it gets very busy. All in all a perfect start to our 9 day trip. Thankyou

I enjoyed my visit despite the weatherThe hotel was Covid secure with the staff on the ball with trying to keep customers safeThey had dispensers in the hotel and socially distanced breakfast with staggered times and table serviceThe Scottish breakfast was goodThe room was a single en suite and although it was basic was okay the room was small but the bathroom was fine and modern with good showerOkay for a single traveller, the village was small and Arrochar had basic places to eat at nightThe bar and restaurant next door Ben Arthurs Botha was ok but the menu was limited and just pub foodThere is another pub in the village which had a better menuWas warned off the chippy by bad reviews and told the locals would not touch it, the two tea shops were closed because of Covid

We found Lochside Guesthouse to be clean, comfortable and covid secure, the staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was great and we enjoyed evening meals and drinks too. The location and views from our room were great, I moved an armchair near the window and enjoyed watching the birds with my binoculars.

Wonderful stay with lovely hosts. The view from our room of Loch Long was breathtaking and a lot less commercial than Loch Lomond. I took my 9 year old boy and we loved it. Clean room and nice breakfast, the pub dinner next door was nice too. Would definitely stay again

We visit the Lockside guest house twice a year and have been doing so for the last 4 years. Every time it has been an excellent stay. This time included. Depsite corvid and the difficulties associated with running a guest house in the middle of a pandemic, the staff were great, the accomodation was clean and comfortable and the food, despite a cut down menu this time, for obvious reasons, was fantastic. There is hand sanitiser dotted about at various points and social distancing is in place and adhered to. We felt perfectly safe.Well done to all at the Lochside Guest House, always number 1 on our holiday list. See you again in November.

Great place lovely loch location , room a bit small but canny , road noise terrible on road side rooms window shut or not . Opt for loch side view even if more expensive ,if not you will never get back a few nights sleep of your life ever .

We were delighted with our room- beautifully light and airy, spotlessly clean and an amazing view over the loch. There was ample choice for cooked breakfasts, which were very tasty, and came with a plentiful supply of coffee. Great care had been taken to ensure the safety of guests. All staff were friendly and welcoming. The only problem we had was on our arrival. We had travelled a long way that day. When we rang ahead to ask to check in earler than originally stated, we were assured that this was not a problem. However, there was no-one at Reception when we arrived and no means (bell etc) of contacting staff to let them know that we had arrived. Perhaps a notice on the door to direct guests to the Bothy on arrival would solve this?Other than that, we had a really enjoyable stay.Thank you.

Began a little worryingly with a mixup on checking in. A sign to say check at the pub next door would have helped. However this was soon sorted and we checked in. The room was fantastic with amazing views of the loch and the mountains. The breakfast and staff were brilliant. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Lochside is it is fair to say at the lower end of the market so our room was fairly basic and a little tired around the edges although the bathroom was immaculate. It more than made up for this though with really friendly helpful staff, well priced food and of course the stunning location. At night the Bothy next door was a welcoming place to relax with a drink and the breakfasts were good.

I could only suggest to replace front door lock. It was closed twice from inside by on of the guests so I had to use back door.

We booked two double rooms both of which were spotlessly clean and had great views of the loch. The rooms were warm and we were able to control the heating ourselves. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and you choose which items you want, or all of them! Pleased to have fresh fruit and yogurt on offer as well as the usual cereals etc.The pub next door serves good reasonably priced pub food (we ate there both nights) and the lounge area also has a great view of the loch. All the staff in guesthouse and pub were very friendly and helpful and very kindly gave us a lift to and from the railway station at Tarbet (about a mile away, too far to walk)- much appreciated!

stayed in the luxury apptmnt above 'The Bothy' and it was luxury.A choice of several bedrooms, good living space and great views made for an enjoyable weekend. The only complaint we had was the alarm going off in the early hours but it didnt spoil things and the staff were extremely apologetic the following morning. I'm pretty sure we'll be returning at some point.

We ate an evening meal in the pub which is attached to the guest house - very convenient ,again with friendly service . It was ideally located to continue our journey the next day .

This guest house was fantastic! The view from the room was stunning! The bathroom was a bit small but clean and functional. There were only 2 slight problems. One was checkin. When we arrived the door was locked and we had to check in at the pub next door. The second was the fact that they stopped serving food in the pub next door and we did not have a chance to have any dinner. We ended up going across the street to the grocery store for some chips. It would have been nice to be told that the pub stops serving food so early. Other than that, fantastic spot. Great staff. Fantastic breakfast and view from the breakfast room.

We stayed at Lochside for 3 nights. We were undecided at first at staying here but so glad we did.We had a loch side room which I recommend as once the mist lifed the views were stunning. Great to wake up to. As we were on the top floor we didnt shut the blinds.Food can be got from the Ben Arthur Bothy next door.. dont be put off by appearances.. the food is excellent and they dont skimp on portion sizes.Good value and very friendly staff.Recommend reserving a table on busy nights as we could not eat there on our last night as it was too busy. But the visit to the local chippy was hilarious... but thats another story..Clean comfortable..highly recommended.Just could do with a little more storage space or shelving especially our bathroom.4.5 /5

The view of the loch from our room was delightful, despite the showers of rain, which meant that we also couldn't enjoy sitting on the patio, down by the loch. The room was modern and comfortable, however the shower mechanism wouldn't work, and when we tried to have a bath, the bath plug wasn't water tight.Check in was via the pub next door, where we enjoyed a good meal.Breakfast in the conservatory was also good.On leaving, we couldn't tell anyone about the shower, as there was no one on the desk.We left our key on the desk.I've rated it 4 out of 5.Would have got a 5 out of 5 if the shower/bath had worked!

Well what can I say about this wonderful self contained apartment. 4 Double rooms all En Suite plus an adjoining bedroom. The whole apartment was truly spectacular along with the view of Loch Long from the balcony. The age group was from 5 to 72. As a family we were there to celebrate my parents 75th Wedding Anniversary (had they lived) they spent their honeymoon on Loch Lomond and we came to celebrate on the Glorious Twelfth. The visit was both poignant and beautiful to honour wonderful parents and grandparents.

Lochside guest house very nice area with a great decking area at back over looking Loch, rooms clean and tidy , food quite good ! Staff nice and friendly .Only thing I would suggest is payment for food and staying is two different bills if you wanted to put food or drinks on room you can’t . So just high light this to customers before hand , as we went to pay for drinks etc , then told get it after , but we thought this was then put on room ! So wires got crossed .Not a big deal , but better to know right away .Would go back as that’s all there was to say .

This a a wonderful flat, recently refurbished to top standard. Large comfortable beds and a spacious living space. Two fridges and a freezer comparment as well as everything you may need in the kitchen. Each double bedroom is en suite. Just great. One thing to bear in mind though. This is a flat on top of the pub so there is no sleeping until midnight. Which was ok with us but definitely something to consider.

Lovely spacious apartment with all amenities. A balcony with a view to die for. There is only one negative and that is the oven needs replacing as seems like the seals have gone. All in all i would definitely recommend.

Driving into Arrochar, with the Lochside being after a junction on the left next to the Ben Arthur Bothy, parking mostly down a short steep track. Main door is by the road with a back way in by the car park. We stay in the Family room, no 1, by reception (£120/night). Good sized with a view of the loch and fells, a double and a twin room, en-suite with a good shower, tea making things. Perfect for our needs. Not very well soundproofed but slept ok.Breakfast featured a good range of choices including a very well cooked breakfast featuring most things you could want, though chilled coissants aren’t right.Food next door was ok, similar view of the loch. Pasta, burger, and steak pie all rather average. Annoying football highlights on TV.

I stay here every time I visit Arrochar and am never disappointed. It is clean, comfy, well run, friendly and has amazing views over the water. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are friendly. Highly recommend.

The lochside Guest House is situated on the banks of loch long. The setting is stunning, quiet and ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is surrounded by hills and there are many great walks with beautiful scenery. Loch lomond is only a few minutes away. If you like scenery, tranquillity and peacefulness, Arrochar is ideal and the Lochside Guest House is the place to stay. The full English breakfast is superb and the rooms are very comfortable.

My daughter and I went to Arrochar to do some hiking for a few days. The Lochside Guest House was very clean and comfortable and the people who managed and worked there were so friendly. The breakfast is very good and the portions very generous. Also, the bar next door serves good food for lunch and dinner. Both the Guest House and the bar have nice decks on the lake where you can take in the beautiful scenery of the area. The only issue was the poor wifi service. This was not an issue for entertainment as they must have a hundredTV and music channels but have your own data if you know that you need wifi, especially in the evening when the system can’t handle the load of everyone trying to get on.Or use the opportunity to unplug for a bit and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the area!

This Guesthouse was a lovely, clean and conveniently located place to stay.We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. The room was small, but not smaller than a Holiday Express double room, and it had a fantastic view of the loch and mountains. The binoculars were such a nice touch. We enjoyed 2 breakfasts there included in the price, and the cook was so lovely, she made porridge for my husband even though it was not on the menu. The shower and all amenities were there, and so we enjoyed our stay there very much. The food in the bar was delicious and so convenient to have after a long day of hiking and driving.Well done, Lochside. We will recommend it to all.Thank you.I'd give 5 stars, but for the size of the room (which was expected!!!)

The lochside guesthouse is perfectly located in the Loch Lomond area, so it was a very convenient stop on our way to Glencoe. The room was small but clean and cozy. This was one of the best night sleeps I’ve ever had. The bathroom was tiny, the water flow in the shower was very weak and the shower didn’t drain properly, but none of it was a big issue. Right by the guesthouse there’s a small local pub. I felt like it gave us a taste of the life in the area. The breakfast was good, with lots of options to choose from, and the view from the dining area- priceless. There’s also plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and the overall experience was very good.

We really enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of staff iis a major factor, The food in the restaurant was excellent. Location is also spot on.The shower was blocked and almost overflowed - we could not use it for ages. Maybe guests dont mention this so I hope this is helpful. The seating in restuarant was difficult - the stools have no backs( nor have we ! -joke!)The tall stoolswas difficult to eat at if you are a smaller person. We will still recomend you to friends as we left happy.

The Lochside was a lovely place to hang my hat for a night. Warm and with a great breakfast and breathtaking view of the Loch, I enjoyed my stay very much. The biggest issue my friend and I had was the WiFi was not working and that was frustrating. We also would have liked more blankets for the fold out couch but there was no one at reception to ask for these things. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but there is room for improvement.

We have just had a Wonderful 2 Night Stay in Lochside Guest House. Our Room was Loch Side so had The Most Wonderful Views, which was so lovely to wake up to in the Mornings. The Pub next door had a lovely welcome from the staff who were both friendly and provided a very good service. The View was spectacular to look at whilst having our meals. The food was Good Pub Grub and a good selection to choose from. The Staff at the B&B were also so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our Room was spotless and had everything we needed and I was even given Fresh Milk for my Tea & Coffee as I hate UHT. We had fresh Towels each morning and were provided with a menu to choose Breakfast the next morning. Now for the Breakfast!!!! Wow is all I can say!!! It was absolutely delicious, with Frest Local Ingrediants and we didn’t eat again until evening. My Hubby says it’s the Best he’s ever had and he loves his food..All in all a Fab Stay and would highly recommend. We shall definitely return.

I stayed in Room 5, the smallest room, for the night and it was exactly what I needed. A place to wind down and get a good nights sleep.Yes it is small and by the roadside but for £35 you really can't complain. The traffic outside is not really a nuisance like some people have commented on. And if you have read the reviews and are very, very sensitive to noise then don't stay in that room, simple. The staf are super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was 5 stars. Full English and all the cereal, fruit and juice you can fill yourself with. One thing I hadn't noticed was that breakfast was not included in my room booking but to be honest it was worth it to start the day well. The terrace on the Loch side is chilled and the views are stunning. The pub next door is also lively and cheerful. All in all a great stay and perfect for my needs. Thanks Lochside Guesthouse, you made my stay a pleasant one.

We stayed in a loch view room for two nights and the view is incredible. Rooms very clean, bed comfort was fine but a bit hard. Breakfast was great, lots of choice. A greast base to explore the trossachs.

It a lovely place to stay, ye only let down is the lack of sound proofing between rooms. You can very clearly hear the conversation happening in the room next door, so bring ear plugs if you want an early night.

We arrive late after dinner because of flight delay and we've been welcome by the pub's nearby in a professional way in a very Saturday's-night-Scottish-pub atmosphere. Perfect start for our vacation with our children.Rooms are comfortable, clean and very silent. One of the best places we found during our stay in Scotland.Reccomended!!

Single room clean and adequate for my needs. Staff pleasant and very helpful.Breakfast more than adequate with a range of options. Loved the dining room setting with such an iconic view ofThe Cobbler. Not having a lounge to sit in at night wasn'ta problem as the Ben Arthur Bothy Pub ext door was always welcoming. For me as a walke, this is oneof these places you look forward to coming back too.

Great B&B, just next to the road passing through Arrochar. Comfortable bed, quite big en-suite bathroom and a great view over Loch Long from our room. There's a pub right next to it but no worries, we've not heard a thing of it so not noisy at all. Would go there again.

Staff was friendly and informative and easy to contact (just ducked into the nearby pub). Room was clean and well furnished and bathrooms were lovely. We had a nice bay window that looked out onto the loch. Internet was fast and easy to access. We chose to stay here because if was close enough to Glasgow for our early morning flight but wish we had more time to enjoy the scenery and have the breakfast.

Room was well presented and staff welcoming. Have been before and will return again. Provides a good Scottish breakfast. The pub next door serves the most delicious meals. The location of the hotel is second to none. Backing on to the loch with the cobbler on the other side, with outside decking areas to sit and take in the spectacular views at your leisure. Highly recommend and looking forward to my next visit.

This is one of the nicest Guest houses we have stayed in. We chose the upper floor room and as soon as we walked into it the view that greeted us was fantastic. The binoculars left for our use were great,a nice touch. Next morning we had our breakfast in the conservatory, everything is fresh cooked and it was fantastic. there is also a selection of fresh fruit ,juices, yogurt in a chilled fridge . Everything was spotless and staff very friendly and helpful. We hope that we may return one day.

I'd go back again if passing that way because I know I'd have a good stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Me and my wife stayed here in december and although it was cold & cloudy, the views from our hotel room were stunning! Room was very clean and tidy and had a very homely feel to it. Staff were extremely nice and welcoming throughout the stay and the breakfast was tasty! TV was a smart TV so was even able to log into my own Netflix account to watch a film! Only thing i would say is that the room can get very cold if you switch off the radiator, and the bathroom floor is rather cold even when heating is on. Doesn't affect the star rating as it was december afterall... getting the correct temperature in the shower took a bit of fiddling about but again not a major problem! Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely stay again! (Hint: chip shop just 2 minutes away sells bath bombs etc! ;) Incase you forget to pack bath stuff!)

Very good food at a decent price... but why on earth has to be turned the TV turned on the the whole day ?... . This is fine for the bar where the play pool, but in a pub which serves lunch, dinner? I do not know....

Having searched and searched for a suitable guesthouse, found the Lochside g/house. Situated on the side of Loch Long, with the Cobbler on your right.. beautiful views during day. The guesthouse itself, very affordable with a pub attachment, a variety of home made dishes.. i had balmoral chicken, haggis insude two breasts of chicken with mash, and green beans topped with peppercorn sauce.. absolutely lovely dish. As was the venison burger both very filling..Breakfast in the morning in conservatory admiring the viee of the loch, again either continental or traditional scottish..Our stay made even better by young woman named Natalie, gave us a lot of information of things to do in and around Arrochar..

We recently spent a week at the Lochside Guest house. It was one of the most pleasant stays we've had. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff helpful and welcoming and the food in the adjoining pub, the Ben Arthurs Bothy, was not only good value but amazing quality. And the view was spectacular looking straight out onto the Loch where we could watch the bird life in the mornings and evenings. The whole experience was a joy. We had the room with a bath which we really needed after a 6 hours trek up to 'the Cobbler'!We would recommend this Guest house to anyone and plan to come back again maybe next year.Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Everything was heavenly from the breathtaking views from our room to the mouthwatering breakfast which filled us for the rest of the day.We were welcomed like old friends and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The area surrounding was like something out of a story book but to be honest we couldn't have been happier than we were sat on the decking till late at night drinking wine and eating gorgeous food from next doors Ben Arthur's Bothy. We genuinely didn't want to come home but will absolutely be returning in the future. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. Can't wait to come back!

Next morning we where pleasantly supprised with how friendly the staff where. On booking the room Ihad asked if it was poss to have a cake for my wifes Birthdaywhich they supprised my wife with at Breakfast with the staff singing happy birthday. Peaceful pretty guest house with comfortable beds. Get there early enough to walk by the loch and enjoy the views and find out where the breakfast room is before you go to bed. We had a plane to catch and the little breakfast room was almost full. Get there early!

A lovely guest house in a great setting. Nothing was too much trouble and the bed very comfortable. Great breakfast and kovely pub next door for evening meal. However sadly as with all single rooms it was very small. No chair or bedside cabinet so belongings ended up on the floor or top of wardrobe.

The apartment itself is nice, the master bedroom is excellent with a king size bed! We were fed up with narrow doubles at b&bs during out trip around Scotland, so it was a relief to sleep in a large bed. Rooms nicely decorated, well equipped kitchen. Pity the washing machine is not accessible as it is behind a locked door, a small wash midway through the trip would have been welcome. The flat is above a noisy bar which is loud with music and shrieks of laughter well after midnight. All but two bedrooms are directly above the bar, and also face the road, so not good if you are sensitive to noise. The dining/reception has a balcony with a fabulous bee over the lake.

Accommodation was exceptional with views over the Loch which were spectacular.Having drinks by the loch in the pub below was fun.Staff were very friendly and very helpful.Rooms were large but some of the group found a couple of the beds to be on the small double side. Ice machine did not work but bar staff helped us out there.Although the flat has sufficient space for 10 people to stay there was only enough seating in the living room for 5 - 1 x 3 seat sofa and 1x2 seat sofa so that was a bit of a squash.Kitchen was functional but lacked some utensils. It was quite noisy on the street side bedrooms when the pub closed at 1.00am and also when patrons were outside to have a smoke.Lochside bedroom heard nothing.Despite some down sides to the accommodation it did not stop us having a wonderful time.Would recommend it but for a maximum of 6 people.

Wonderful setting with brilliant lochview. Family room perfectly fitted and lovely decorated. Breakfast was good.Only negative point was the extremely sticky floor in the breakfast room (has it ever been cleaned?) and that the complete building is horribly clairaudient. The room was immaculate, very comfy bed, modern bathroom with shower/bath, the views of Loch Long are amazing, so relaxing and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is pre-ordered thd night before and you choose what time you would like it. Excellent apartment, especially the location. Small grumble would be the size/layout of lounge, nit big enough to sit more than 6 adults. An extra couch in there would be ideal as the views from there are amazing! The service was fantastic, couldn't be better. The food at breakfast and at dinner in the pub attached was first class. We stayed here for one night as a wee getaway after reading great reviews. The Lochside was everything we hoped it would be. We had a great room overlooking the loch. Unfortunately the weather was a bit unkind to us but this did not detract from the stunning views in any way.Breakfast was in the conservatory so again, great views.Only downside, in my opinion, was having to pre-order breakfast the night before. This led to a lot of food being wasted as we had far too much. The quality of the breakfast however was very good.Cannot fault this establishment in any way. Will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised by Lochside. It's absolutely lovely - finished to the highest standard. Plenty of room for my two toddlers to run about, and plenty of privacy for several different families. The view was incredible. The pub underneath is a bit of a turn-off but it turned out to be fine (there was some noise but I'm used to it so didn't bother me). I'd highly recommend the pub food - it was lovely and homey.

We had a room that was at the back of the guest house and overlooked the Loch and it was idyllic; the scenery is breathtaking. The breakfast was lovely. It was quiet in January, but there is a pub next door and a pub in the village, which both serve food.

It was our daughter's birthday and coming back in her room after a day's sightseeing she found a birthday card from the staff and a little candle, very thoughtful. Breakfast was lovely and yummy! rooms were clean and comfortable but bathrooms lacked a bit in shelving space. View from our rooms were beautiful, looking over the loch and binoculars were provided in every room to look at the wildlife on the loch. Would recommend however and would stay there again.
